Pedro Tomas Delgado: Potable Water Without Chemicals Or Energy

Pedro and Aquaphytex attended the 2012 Unreasonable Institute. If you want to read more and connect with him click here to see his Unreasonable Profile.

Pedro Tomas Delgado: At seventeen, Pedro never enrolled in college because he was too busy developing his company Aquaphytex in response to a program on TV depicting the problems that faced wastewater treatment in the region where he was born.

The dream and the idea of working in this sector became his obsession. Now, Pedro is the European representative of Water and of the Youth Movement, has participated in the Ignite Cambridge program, has spoken at international conferences in Argentina, México, and Spain, and has worked internationally in Mali, Burkina Faso, Bolivia, Brazil, Portugal, Kenya, and the Bahamas.

Pedro wants to prove that water doesn’t belong to big companies, but to the world’s population and that you don’t need large capital investments to provide high quality water for human consumption. All the resources needed are offered by nature!

Aquaphytex: Aquaphytex is a pioneer and a global leader in the biotechnological production, installation, and maintenance of plant material for its use in depuration systems of wastewater. An innovative, creative, and dynamic company in phytodepuration (purification using plants), Aquaphytex offers a natural, effective, clean, and low cost alternative to the obsolete, expensive, and pollutant traditional physicochemical depuration. Currently, they are providing clean drinking water to over 300,000 people.

Update: Pedro is now running Agua Inc. and you can read more about it here.
