Mouhsine Serrar is a mechanical engineer from Morocco. Previously, he worked in product design as a senior engineer and consultant for multinational technology companies – including Motorola, Pitney Bowes, BMW, Intel, Boeing, and others — for more than 10 years. Since then, he’s discovered a new industry that he enjoys very much: designing clean-burning, fuel-efficient cookstoves for developing countries.

Mouhsine is currently voyaging his company Prakti Design with his business partner Minh Cuong Le Quan.

My conviction is that we will make it happen; impact a life of millions of peoples, poor people with limited option, and give them the option to acquire our products, our solutions, products that have real value to them, product that improve their life, their health, their livelihood, and their environment.

My conviction is fueled by my love of design (design in a big way, solving any kind of problem effectively and elegantly), and my love of the knowledge that humanity acquired over time (engineering, materials, communication, business, etc.).

My way is to use this humanity knowledge, the best of it; There may be a hint, using humanity knowledge (with the professionals passionate about their profession) to save future of humanity

To impact life of millions, with very little money to spare, we will need a lot of luck, that I don’t count on, but for sure we need to have all the skills, the know how, the magic to make it happen.

Today, I believe we have a kick ass design, kick ass manufacturing. We may have the best, the first marketing and distribution strategy for stoves that is sustainable. We believe it. We need to prove it.

We need we ‘invented’ the first effective marketing and distribution model of clean cookstoves; and now we need to prove it. No investors is willing today to fund a stove business.

We can teach lessons or at least match to the brightest regular commercial business. I know, because I was there.
