Unreasonable

From Spain, With Love – The “Unofficial” Unreasonable Theme Song

I remember wondering how I could ever apply my skills to helping people.  Tweet This Quote

While traveling on Unreasonable at Sea, we realized every day that there was an incredible amount of talent trapped on that ship. Two of the Semester at Sea students, Conor Ryan and Michael Davis, were inspired by the Unreasonable presence on the ship and wrote this song. We were blown away, and when we docked in Barcelona for our culminating event, Conor and Michael took center stage and received a standing ovation for their performance.

LYRICS:

Swinging on a bow of a sailing ship
I’m calling out to the open sea.
And all the sudden I heard a distant cry
In a pained reply: she said stop taking advantage of me.

You think you got cities to see and people to meet?
Well, we got bigger fish to fry.
How we gonna feed all the kids in the street?
Put smiles on all the faces that cry?

So let me ask you this one question, my fellow sailor.
What do you want the world to be?
You’re saying that you think my question is unreasonable.
Well, come and be unreasonable with me.

To heal this planets bleeding wound,
The world has got to open it’s fist.
Peace is there, just on the horizon.
I’m an impatient optimist.

I see answers to the peoples questions.
No matter how poor, how sick, or how old.
I can teach the blind to see the sky.
I can turn smoke into gold.

So let me ask you this one question, my fellow sailor.
What do you want the world to be?
You’re saying that you think my question is unreasonable.
Well, come and be unreasonable with me.

So let me ask you this one question, my fellow sailor.
What do you want the world to be?
You’re saying that you think my question is unreasonable.
Well, come and be unreasonable with me.
