At Zoona<\/a>, we exist to help<\/strong> communities thrive. How do we do this? We empower entrepreneurs, especially women, to provide essential financial services to their communities \u2013 allowing them to earn an income while building financial inclusion.<\/p>\n

We have built our entire business model around unlocking the potential of these emerging entrepreneurs, by giving them all the tools and support they need to succeed. It has enabled us to grow to a stage where we have over 1,500 agents who have created more than 3,000 jobs and serve more than 1.5 million consumers every 60 days. Cumulatively, they have processed over USD $1 billion in mobile money transactions since inception.<\/p>\n

From the onset of our journey, we have seen women entrepreneurs consistently achieve better results and greater impact in their communities. In November 2014, Zoona was selected for the inaugural Girl Effect Accelerator<\/a> (an Unreasonable Group and Nike Foundation initiative). Zoona was invited to participate as one of the top 10 startups in the world best suited to taking women and girls out of poverty. I attended the accelerator with Mike Quinn, Zoona\u2019s CEO.
