Julie Markham’s Bio
Julie Markham loves technology, entrepreneurship, and the global world – a perfect combination at the heart of Unreasonable at Sea. Julie has spent time on the founding team of various ventures, including a tech start-up focused on environmental sustainability, a non-profit distributing microcredit loans, and a global expression campaign “Dream Out Loud: Pangaea Project”.
Julie spent the past year traveling around the world with her backpack without a guidebook or cell phone. She trekked really tall mountains, dived deep in the oceans, served as a Young Professional Ambassador, and connected with amazing innovators and entrepreneurs globally. Julie is currently drafting a book on these adventures with her trusted travel buddy. Julie has spent a considerable amount of time overseas including interning for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winning institution, the Grameen Bank, and serving as a Legislative Fellow on behalf of the US Department of State.
A graduate from the University of Denver, Julie completed her MBA, Masters in Real Estate and Construction Management, and BSBA in Finance/Real Estate with a minor in Leadership Studies all in 5 years with full-scholarship. She graduated summa cum laude and was selected as a member of the USA Today All Academic First Team (top 20 undergraduate student in the nation).
