Developing climate friendly solutions for sustainable EV batteries and low carbon fuels
Sylvatex, SVX, is a climate-tech company utilizing sustainable chemistry & materials science to accelerate the shift to electrification of transportation by increasing production throughput while lowering the cost and carbon footprint of the biggest bottleneck in the lithium-ion battery, the cathode.
SVX 1stGen technology uses its patented technology, MicroX, and licensed process to drop into existing manufacturing techniques while cutting out toxic steps. While commercializing their 1stGen technology, SVX is also working on a NextGen process which completely flips the script with a novel process that closes the loop and eliminates the need for water in manufacturing. SVX has the following proven results:
- 20-60% lower costs of the cathode material
- Drop-in to existing manufacturing with 2-5X throughput production
- 70-85% lower energy usage
- Closed loop system to use recycled materials
Notable Achievements
- Signed LOI with one of the largest EV manufacturers to de-risk production and reduce costs.
- Joint Venture with Trucent (global leader in fluid recovery and regeneration solutions) for the scale up of SVX's MicroX technology.
- A focus [to-date] on non-dilutive funding and partnerships has de-risked capital investments. Awarded a $2.8M DOE Advanced Manufacturing Office Award and $1.3M National Science Foundation grant.
