Turning waste carbon into sustainable aviation fuel in a single step.
OXCCU, spun out from the University of Oxford in 2021, converts CO₂ and hydrogen into sustainable aviation fuel, chemicals, and biodegradable plastics using a patented one-step catalyst. Its OX1 demonstration plant at Oxford Airport is the world’s first facility to produce jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons directly from waste carbon. A second plant, OX2, is set to be operational in early 2027.
