Alleviating poverty by investing in rural households, and especially women

Frontier Markets is a social tech commerce platform that markets, sells, services, products and digital services, delivered at the doorsteps of rural consumers in villages through an assisted commerce model run by rural women entrepreneurs called Saral Jeevan Sahelis
Frontier Markets’ mission to create ‘Saral Jeevan’ or an ‘Easy Life’ for rural households is based on the belief that they are dignified customers deserving local access to high quality products and services they both want and need with ease. And that women are the key influences for driving change in rural villages. By investing in digital inclusion for women, they create wealth opportunities for women, and their customers.
Its aim is to provide the “last mile connectivity” by focusing on developing customer insights through it's ecosystem and introducing curated solutions in clean energy, mobility, digital connectivity, financial services, and appliances that will make the greatest impact on the lives of rural villagers.
The company has built a network of 10,000 women entrepreneurs reaching 700,000 rural customers, selling 1 million products til date, expanding its presence to 4 states of India. Their vision is to have a platform of 100MN rural customers and 100,000 women network access a better, more dignified life.
