Tridi Oasis is a growing manufacturer of recycled plastic bottles in Indonesia aiming to turn problems into opportunities through recycling city waste. With Indonesia’s growing population, plastic waste - especially plastic bottles - becomes high prominent and inevitable issues need to be addressed. Tridi Oasis works by collecting PET bottles from domestic waste management with a network of local suppliers that separate the plastic from other materials. The plastic bottles are then processed into plastic flakes, which can be used to manufacture packaging and textiles. The demand from manufacturers for high-quality plastic flakes has risen tremendously, and by 2018, Tridi Oasis had processed over 60 million PET bottles. Their primary customers are based in foreign markets in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and textile industries as the demand grows for locally-sourced and recycled plastics for their products.
