According to the US EPA, "geothermal heat pumps are the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective systems for heating and cooling." Dandelion Energy uses a rooftop-solar-like model to replace homeowners' existing air conditioning and heating equipment with a geothermal system, drastically reducing costs for both consumers and the environment. Dandelion's vertically integrated model allows for a great customer experience, attractive margins, and fast innovation and learning.

Dandelion has pioneered the usage of small, residential-friendly drilling rigs for geothermal installation in the US. While the company has focused primarily on residential retrofit to date, Dandelion has recently started working with home builders to install geothermal in new home developments. Dandelion expects this to become a large portion of its business over time.
