Automating waste composition analysis using AI-powered computer vision software
At Greyparrot, we digitise waste flows using AI-based computer vision to monitor and sort waste at scale. Greyparrot provides waste analytics and new insights previously unavailable to waste managers, producers and regulators to help increase recycling rates. Our end-to-end Waste Recognition Vision System is currently deployed on moving conveyor belts in sorting facilities to measure large waste flows in real-time. Waste composition information is key to help facilities increase recycling/recovery rates, enhance product quality, and understand the carbon footprint of the products we consume and the waste we generate. Greyparrot is also collaborating with suppliers of hardware and machinery to embed AI cognitive intelligence into their solutions. Our goal is to increase transparency and automation in waste management to support our transition to a circular economy.
Notable Achievements
- We have deployed 15 Greyparrot vision systems in facilities and are working with leading waste management companies across Europe and Asia.
- We acquired millions of waste data/images and our AI model can now recognise 40+ waste categories with high accuracy.
- We have raised a total of £3.8 m to date from leading European investors including SpeedInvest, ForceOverMass and 360 Capital.
