South 8 Technologies replaces the liquid inside a lithium-ion battery cell with liquefied gas. Conventional electrolytes thicken in the cold, which is why batteries fail in freezing conditions. South 8's patented LiGas electrolyte enables industry-leading cold performance (down to -60°C), improved safety, faster charging, and longer cycle life while remaining compatible with existing battery manufacturing infrastructure. South 8 holds 68 patents and serves defense, aerospace, mobility, and energy storage markets.
