Jungwoo Lee

Jungwoo Lee is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of South 8 Technologies, leading the company’s commercialization and scaleup of its proprietary LiGas® electrolyte platform for next-generation lithium-ion batteries. Combining deep technical leadership with operational execution, she has been central to developing its core technology, scaling manufacturing, building strategic partnerships, and positioning the company to capture large, mission-critical markets across defense, aerospace, and electric mobility.

Previously, Jungwoo worked as an engineer at Panasonic, developing laser-based manufacturing equipment, and at MIT, managing device development, fabrication, and testing of emerging solar cell technologies. She earned her PhD from UC San Diego for research on solid-state batteries and pioneering battery characterization techniques and a B.A. in Physics from Wellesley College.
