Restoring vibrancy to rural communities by transforming underutilized real estate into walkable, culturally rich destinations
Staple is a community-focused real estate developer in Japan that transforms underused buildings and neighbourhoods into walkable, culturally rich destinations. Working across eight historic neighbourhoods from Hiroshima to Hakodate, the company develops hotels, public bathhouses, cafes, and workspaces that attract visitors while strengthening local communities. Recently partnering with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank to form Good Soil Inc., Staple combines institutional investment with grassroots development to counter rural depopulation. To date, the company has raised $7 million in corporate equity and $50 million in fund equity.
