Yuta Oka
Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Staple
Yuta is the Founder/CEO of Staple Inc., a hospitality and place-making company that develops and operates walkable neighborhoods and destinations across Japan. He also co-founded GOOD SOIL INC. with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, an investment platform focused on circulating capital within regional economies and supporting long-term community sustainability.
Based in Hiroshima and Tokyo, his work explores how everyday life and travel can intersect beyond excessive urban concentration, connecting cities, local regions, and nature.
Born in Okayama and raised in Connecticut and Tokyo, Yuta developed a fascination with cultural diversity through travel. Before founding Staple in 2018, he worked at Starwood Capital Group in Tokyo and San Francisco, and later advised on hotel investment strategy and corporate planning in Singapore.
