Colab is a civic engagement social network that enables citizens to connect with government and each other. It exists to improve the city-dweller's quality of life by enabling people to solve daily city issues, improve their relationships with legislators, and participate in the decision-making process of local governments. Through the Colab website or mobile app, users can report issues where they live -- such as a pothole or broken street lamp -- suggest urban improvements, and rate public services. Colab also offers governments a SaaS platform for management and engagement tools. To date, over 200,000 people have used Colab in over 100 municipalities across Brazil, reporting over 80,000 problems which resulted in over 40,000 resolutions of those problems. In 2013, Colab received the Best Urban App of the World Award.
