Based in Kenya, EcoPost's technology takes 100 percent plastic waste and turns it into aesthetic, durable, and environmentally friendly lumber for use in applications ranging from fencing to construction and outdoor furniture. EcoPost's lumber does not rot and cannot be eaten by termites. It can be cut, drilled, and nailed just as easily as wooden timber using the same woodworking tools, and it outlasts the lifespan of timber. EcoPost addresses the environmental challenges of urban waste management, deforestation, and climate change, as well as the social challenge of unemployment by hiring locally. To date, EcoPost has created 50 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs, has re-used 3 million kilograms of plastic waste, and has saved 850 acres of forest, further mitigating climate change.

Notable Achievements

  • Ecopost has recycled over 13 Million Kilograms of Plastic waste
  • Ecopost has created 102 direct and 12,000 indirect jobs.
