Lorna Rutto is an inspirational, multi-passionate social entrepreneur with a vision to have a Green Africa free from poverty. She was born in Nakuru, Kenya in 1984. She holds a B.com degree in Accounting from Africa Nazarene University. She landed a job in the financial sector in 2007; however, she resigned and took the entrepreneurial plunge due to her innate need to create jobs for people living in dire poverty. Lorna is the CEO of EcoPost, a for-profit Social Enterprise that creates sustainable jobs for people in marginalized communities while conserving the environment. Lorna has been a recipient of various local and international awards for providing exceptional and exemplary community service through her social enterprise. Lorna was featured on the elite Forbes List among the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa and in 2013, she was also nominated with by Guardian newspaper readers among Africa’s top women achievers. Lorna is a much sought after trainer and speaker at local and international forums. She has developed a community engagement program where she trains youths on the various entrepreneurial opportunities and how to set up successful green businesses.
