Vehicles emit around 24 pounds of carbon dioxide for every gallon of gas used, contributing to dangerous global levels of all greenhouse gases. Riversimple, a sustainable car company working to systematically eliminate the environmental impact of personal transport, believes that "less unsustainable is still not sustainable." Currently, they are developing hydrogen fuel cell cars and, more importantly, the strategies to bring them to market. Riversimple's car, the Rasa, was designed from the ground up and is three times as efficient as any other car on the road, emitting only water. It is supplied as a fully inclusive service — meaning insurance and fuel are included with driving — making it the first eco-car available at no cost premium. In 2017, Riversimple secured a €2 million grant towards a 20 car market trial.
