Hugo is an Unreasonable Fellow. Hugo was part of Unreasonable Impact UK 2016.
Hugo is an Oxford trained engineer with a Cranfield MBA.
Hugo founded and ran a business for over 15 years designing and building racing cars, and restoring historic racing cars, before environmental concerns led him to leave the world of motorsport in 1999.
 Hugo set up OSCar Automotive in 2001, which became Riversimple Engineering in 2007 and Riversimple Movement in 2015. From the first car, the Morgan LIFECar shown at the Geneva Motorshow in 2008, to the latest customer-ready Rasa, all vehicles have been developed under his leadership on the basis of whole system design.
Hugo was awarded the SIMMs medal by the RAC Club in 2016 for an outstanding contribution to motoring innovation.
He is a vocal advocate for the Circular Economy – Riversimple was elected an Emerging Innovator member of the CE100 by Ellen Macarthur Foundation in 2017 - and is currently involved in the World Economic Forum’s Circular Cars Initiative.
