Meet The Entrepreneurs Defining the Future of Sustainability Innovation

Accenture and Unreasonable searched the globe to identify the most impactful growth-stage ventures, as part of the Unreasonable CHANGE program.

Join us as we reveal the entrepreneurs who are building innovative solutions to key sustainability challenges facing businesses today.

Unreasonable CHANGE is focused firmly on sustainability, which Accenture considers the most powerful force for change in our generation. As the world races to halve global emissions by 2030, supply chain emissions are, on average, over five times greater than a corporation's direct emissions. Consumers say they want to buy purpose-driven brands—but only 26% actually do.

This Virtual Showcase reveals growth-stage entrepreneurs addressing three key challenges: navigating complicated energy transitions; delivering sustainable 'net zero' supply chains; and changing consumer interest in sustainability.

Unreasonable CHANGE is a strategic collaboration between Unreasonable and Accenture. This initiative is focused on creating an ecosystem of support to scale ventures that are solving pressing global challenges by rewiring the global system for a more sustainable future. It brings together entrepreneurs, institutions, and investors to champion the world's most innovative growth-stage ventures to help them scale, maximizing their impact on the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is behind this?

+

This Virtual Showcase is an extension of Unreasonable CHANGE, a three-year strategic collaboration between Accenture and Unreasonable, that creates a global ecosystem of support to scale companies that address the urgent societal and environmental challenges of our time. These two organizations share the belief that high-growth entrepreneurs – leveraging profit and advanced technologies – are well-placed to offer solutions to sustainability challenges once considered unsolvable.

We work exclusively with growth-stage entrepreneurs whose ventures have the potential to solve some of the world's most pressing social and environmental challenges. Head to the Unreasonable CHANGE website for more information on this global initiative.

What is the process and criteria you used to select the participating entrepreneurs?

+

Each company must be focused on solving a pressing societal and/or environmental challenge and have a solution that can scale. The program selects ventures that demonstrate they are addressing three key challenges:

  1. Helping organizations to maximize value from changing consumer interest in sustainability
  2. Helping organizations to design and deliver trusted, net zero and circular end-to-end value chains
  3. Helping organizations to navigate the energy transition through innovation-led, business model transformation

Unreasonable CHANGE also targets high-growth companies ready to scale. To source these companies, Unreasonable CHANGE works with a highly-developed network of mentors, funders, partners, and entrepreneurs to vet, handpick, and selectively invite company CEOs to attend the program. The program selection committee then evaluates the company's ability to scale exponentially, their value alignment with the program, and the capability of the product or service to both solve social and environmental problems and spur job growth. After multiple rounds of interviews, a final cohort of select entrepreneurs is welcomed into the program.

What tech do I need in order to join?

+
You'll only need your computer, tablet, or smartphone and the URL link we'll provide by email to stream through your web browser. If you're experiencing any difficulty, we suggest trying a different browser (Chrome) or changing your device (like a tablet or smartphone). We've built a customized platform so that you can not only watch the live event but also have the ability to reach out to each of the participating ventures with interest to connect.

I am getting invited to a lot of digital events. What makes this one different?

+

We are glad you asked. This live event is about going beyond words and into action. You will not only discover the work of for-profit companies with unique business models for driving impact, but you will also have the opportunity to reach out to the entrepreneurs directly.

If you watch all of the presentations, the entire event will last about 60 minutes. Knowing your time is arguably your most valuable commodity, we’ve created a customized platform that will make it easy for you to choose to watch only the presentations that feel most aligned with your interests (likely ~40 minutes in total). Throughout the event, we'll make it simple for you to express interest in connecting with and supporting any of the presenting ventures. We'll then streamline the process by organizing any requested introductions on your behalf.
