Future of AI Infrastructure

Sonoma Coast, California · October 2026

The AI era needs a better energy future

We believe AI can accelerate the energy transition — but only if the people building its infrastructure work together.

AI is one of the fastest-growing sources of energy demand on the planet. Data centers are being built at a scale our grids, water systems, and supply chains were never designed to support. The question is not whether this infrastructure will be built. It is whether we can build it in a way that serves both people and the planet.
That is why Unreasonable Group and Barclays are bringing together a cohort of growth-stage CEOs building the energy backbone of AI with a small group of hand-picked Mentors. The aim is simple: put the right people around the same table, work on the problems that matter now, and help proven solutions scale faster.

No panels, no pitches — an innovation studio for the people building the energy backbone of AI

In October 2026, we will gather on the Sonoma Coast and put the right people around the same table to work on the energy future of AI

A cohort of privately invited growth-stage CEOs — beyond the pitch deck and already building across one or more of five themes:

  • Hyperscaler and AI infrastructure
  • Power, grid, and energy
  • Cooling, water, and facility operations
  • Circularity, materials, and electronics
  • Climate deployment capital

Senior operators and investors whose experience helps these CEOs make better decisions, forge the right relationships, and move faster. Business is not business; business is people.

If your work touches hyperscale computing, power and grid, cooling and facilities, materials and electronics, or deployment capital — you belong at the table.

What becomes possible when the right people gather

Fellows spend the full week on the Sonoma Coast. Mentors join for the core three days. We do not gather to watch pitches; we bring together CEOs already scaling what works and the people whose experience can help them move faster.

The right people, already here.

The people around the table

At the center of the Lab are growth-stage CEOs already building and scaling the energy backbone of AI Every Fellow is privately invited from the Unreasonable Fellowship and beyond.

Around them, we bring together a small group of Mentors from hyperscale computing, power and grid infrastructure, cooling, facilities, materials, electronics, and deployment capital. Our partners at Barclays bring deep sector expertise, a global client network, and a shared belief in the power of growth-stage entrepreneurs to create lasting change.

Unreasonable wraps a global community of lifelong support around every Fellow. Today, Unreasonable includes 559 ventures across 48 countries. Together, they have raised $23 bn, mitigated 170,015,821 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, and are supported by a wider community of 1,180 Mentors.

We are grateful to our global community of 1,180 mentors — from Nobel Laureates to renowned executives & policy makers

"Unreasonable is a bit like the TED conference on steroids… But where TED brings luminaries together for a day or two to discuss a particular problem plaguing the world, Unreasonable focuses on the start-up businesses offering solutions to those problems." Forbes
