The future of AI will be shaped by the infrastructure that powers it

We find ourselves at a pivotal juncture.

As AI scales, energy, water, and grid capacity are becoming defining constraints on its growth. What began as a software conversation is now a real-world infrastructure challenge shaping the future of data centers, utilities, industrial systems, local communities and sociopolitical debates. Simultaneously energy use is also becoming a core driver of AI economics — influencing the cost of compute globally.
The question is not whether new infrastructure will be built. It is whether we can build it in a way that serves both people and the planet. Enter our private gathering this October.

Ensuring a more resilient and sustainable backbone for the AI era is not only a moral imperative, it’s also an unprecedented business opportunity

In October 2026, on the Sonoma Coast, Unreasonable Group and Barclays are bringing together a cohort of a dozen of the world’s most disruptive growth-stage CEOs leveraging technology to ensure a more sustainable and resilient AI infrastructure (“Fellows”). We will align these Fellows with a small group of hand-picked financers, advisors, and industry executives across the value-chain of AI (“Mentors”). The aim is simple: ensure the people and innovations positioned to build the future of AI infrastructure come together to deepen trust and rapidly accelerate the adoption and scalability of novel solutions.

A cohort of privately invited growth-stage CEOs — beyond the pitch deck and already building across one or more of four themes:

  • Power Generation, Storage & Grid Capacity
  • Data Center Energy & Efficiency
  • Water, Cooling & Resource Efficiency
  • Materials, Circularity & Resource Recovery

Senior operators and investors whose experience helps these CEOs make better decisions, forge the right relationships, and move faster. Business is not business; business is people.

If your work touches hyperscale computing, power and grid, cooling and facilities, materials and electronics, or deployment capital — you belong at the table.

Collaborating towards a better future

No panels, no pitches — an intimate innovation studio for the entrepreneurs and executives building the infrastructure behind AI. After nearly two decades of hosting private gatherings that drive market transformation, our team at Unreasonable has come to believe that we only innovate at the rate at which we build trust. This Lab is our opportunity to do that with a curated room of the world’s top science-based solutions and the executives and investors who have the ability to shape the AI era.

The right people, already here.

A collaborative advantage.

Experience, not a presentation.

The people around the table

At the center of the Lab are a dozen Unreasonable Fellows — growth-stage CEOs already building and scaling solutions for more resilient and sustainable AI infrastructure.

We will then wrap these Fellows with a curated group of Mentors from hyperscale computing, power and grid infrastructure, cooling, facilities, materials, electronics, and deployment capital. Our partners at Barclays bring deep sector expertise, a global client network, and a shared belief in the power of disruptive entrepreneurs to create lasting change.

Beyond the walls of the Lab, Unreasonable provides all Fellows with a global community of lifelong support and a broader network of more than 1,180 Mentors. Today, Unreasonable supports 559 ventures across 48 countries. Together, they have raised $23 bn, mitigated 170,015,821 metric tons of CO2 equivalent, generated more than $23 bn in revenues and are supporting over 2 m jobs.

We are grateful to our global community of 1,180 mentors — from Nobel Laureates to renowned executives & policy makers

"Unreasonable is a bit like the TED conference on steroids… But where TED brings luminaries together for a day or two to discuss a particular problem plaguing the world, Unreasonable focuses on the start-up businesses offering solutions to those problems." Forbes

Meet the Fellows

We handpicked and privately invited a select group of growth-stage CEOs who are building the physical systems that make AI possible — ensuring its growth is more resilient, sustainable, and economically viable.

We selected solutions across 4 main categories: Power Generation, Storage & Grid Capacity; Data Center Energy & Efficiency; Water, Cooling & Resource Efficiency; and Materials, Circularity & Resource Recovery.
