Adam is an Unreasonable Fellow. Adam was part of Unreasonable Food 2024.
A native of Boston, Adam Maxwell, was drawn to a food career from an early age,
pursuing his first professional experience as a 14 year-old pastry apprentice at James
Beard award-winning restaurant, Clio. He continued working in fine dining throughout
his adolescence and during his adult education as a student of Food Chemstry at McGill
University. Prior to graduation, Adam left McGill to accept an incredible opportunity to
work at Chew Innovation labs, where he met future fellow Voyage Foods Founding
Team Member and VP of R&D, Kelsey Tenney. During his time at Chew, Adam led
multiple projects for global brands spanning confectionery, coffee and shelf stable egg
bars, ultimately preparing him for his next endeavor at Endless West, the world's first
and only molecular wine and spirits company. At Endless West, Adam oversaw R&D,
expanded the company’s technology platform, launched dozens of new products, and
helped build a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Throughout these endeavors,
Adam’s passion and understanding of the fragility of our food systems rapidly evolved
as he perceived both the opportunity and urgency to leverage technology and
innovation to transform our favorite foods for the better. Maxwell’s belief is that everyone
deserves to the right to enjoy their favorite foods without compromise on taste, risk of
threat to future access or sacrifice to dietary needs and preferences culminated in the
launch of Voyage Foods in 2021, where he now leads a team of talented food scientists
and CPG experts.
