Adri Pols is the CEO of Desolenator, an award-winning and innovative water technology company that delivers decentralized clean water and cooling solutions powered by solar energy, geothermal heat, or waste heat. Desolenator transforms complex water sources, including seawater and water contaminated with heavy metals, into drinking water without using membranes or generating harmful brine waste. Cooling is produced as a valuable by-product. The company has successfully deployed systems for DEWA in Dubai and for Silal (ADQ) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Mr. Pols brings extensive experience in commercial and strategic leadership roles, with a deep passion for sustainability. Prior to joining Desolenator, he was CEO of BOAL Group, a global leader in sustainable Controlled Environment Agriculture, with revenues exceeding $250 million. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pols was at the forefront of the energy transition, working across green electricity retailing, solar power, biofuels, and energy storage.
He has lived and worked across three continents, serving in start-ups, scale-ups, and multinational corporations including Shell, TAQA, GE, and BCG. Mr. Pols is fluent in five languages and holds two Master’s degrees from Twente University of Technology in the Netherlands, one of which he completed cum laude.
