President & Co-Founder at Workbay

Alice is an Unreasonable Fellow.
Alice Hayes is the President & Co-Founder of Workbay, a workforce technology company focused on connecting underserved populations to real opportunity through career exploration, training, workforce engagement, and reentry support.
After a brief start in law, Alice realized she was more drawn to building practical systems that could directly impact people’s lives and economic mobility. She co-founded Workbay alongside her mother, Mary Hayes, building on more than 20 years of experience creating workforce training and behavioral learning programs for frontline workers across healthcare, hospitality, and community-based industries.
Together, they transformed years of employer-informed training content, career development tools, and workforce expertise into a technology platform designed to help communities close opportunity gaps and better connect people to the modern economy.
Today, Workbay supports workforce and correctional initiatives across multiple states, helping one of the country’s most underserved yet highly motivated adult learner populations gain access to skills training, career pathways, and employment opportunities both during incarceration and after release.
Alice is especially passionate about building technology that feels human, practical, and genuinely useful for the people and systems it serves. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sal.
