Amanda is an Unreasonable Mentor.
Amanda is a sustainability and social responsibility executive with more than 15 years of experience driving strategy, building innovation programs, and leading global teams to improve social and environmental impact in multinational companies.  Most recently, Amanda developed the new corporate responsibility plan and associated impact programs for Verizon. Previously, she led sustainability and social innovation at Pearson. She developed Pearson’s 2020 sustainability plan, founded a company-wide incubator and established a signature partnership with Save the Children supporting education for Syrian refugees in Jordan.  Amanda spent three years at UNDP leading the ‘Business Call to Action,’ working with multinational companies to support global development goals through business model innovation. She was also a program director at the International Business Leaders Forum in London, advising companies such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Pfizer, and Shell on sustainable business in emerging markets.  From 2005-2008, she headed the secretariat for the Voluntary Principles on Security & Human Rights, an initiative that addresses extractive industry challenges in countries such as Nigeria, Colombia, Indonesia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Amanda chairs the Board of Children in Conflict (www.childreninconflict.org) and also serves on the Board of The Partnering Initiative www.thepartneringinitiative.org).
