Angus Whelchel is a Managing Director and Global Head of Private Capital Markets at Moelis, based in New York. Angus is responsible for the origination, structuring and distribution of privately placed equity and debt financings for Moelis across a variety of industries and countries within North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.
Angus has almost 25 years of experience in this market. Prior to joining Barclays, he worked at Lehman Brothers in New York and also spent a number of years on the buy side at GE Capital where he managed a portfolio of Private Placement and structured investments. During his career, Angus has helped clients raise over $100bn of private capital across all industries and regions as well as having deep relationships with all the investors in the private placement market.
Angus holds a MBA from the College of William and Mary, and a BA in Finance from the University of Vermont. He also carries the CFA designation.
