Ann Rogan is CEO and co-founder of Edge Collaborative, whose mission is to incubate and invest in civic ventures that can build a more participatory, inclusive economy. It does this by helping to turn community partners’ visions and priorities into a wide range of demonstration projects made possible by innovative public-private-community partnerships. To bring those visions to life, Edge has advanced initiatives across workforce development, climate resilience, and community wealth. Ultimately, it deploys capital and expertise to do ‘market building’ for new solutions that expand the boundaries of what is possible.
Her career has centered on reimagining economic opportunity in emerging markets ranging from rural India to the Central Valley of California. Previously, she pioneered a healthcare access initiative in rural India, fostered technology entrepreneurship in the Baltics, and, most recently, served as a senior advisor in the mayor’s office in Stockton, California through FUSE Corps. There, she deepened her understanding of the challenges posed by growing income inequality and climate change within the U.S., particularly in underserved communities. Thereafter, she and her team identified a solution: building a “civic incubator” that partners with a constellation of partners: community groups, industry, philanthropy, and public institutions. In so doing, it invests in civic infrastructure to unlock a sense of agency and imagination building across communities and the institutions that serve them.
As an entrepreneur, Ann has co-founded two companies focused on expanding access to emerging technologies in renewable energy and 3D printing. She has also advised the Government of Estonia on its pioneering e-Residency program. Ann earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Development and English Literature from McGill University. She is an Emerson Collective Dial Fellow.
