Avinash Thakur is Head of the Debt Origination Group for Asia Pacific at Barclays, based in Hong Kong.
Avinash leads the Debt Origination teams spanning across bonds and loans with the aim of delivering the best debt solutions to our clients, working closely with their partners in country and sector coverage.
Avinash has over 20 years’ experience in Debt Markets in Asia Pacific, where he has worked on several landmark bond transactions for sovereign, financial institutions and corporates.
He joined Barclays in 2011 from Merrill Lynch in Singapore, where he was Head of Debt Capital Markets for South and South East Asia. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he held a similar position at Deutsche Bank. Avinash started his career at Citi, where he worked in Investment Banking, Capital Markets and Corporate Banking for 10 years.
He has an MBA from IIM Bangalore and a degree in Economics from the University of Delhi.
