Basab joined HSBC Corporate Bank in India straight out of MBA school as an Associate. He worked with HSBC in India and UK in various Corporate Banking roles across product and coverage. In 2010 he joined Barclays Bank in UK.

 

July 2012, Basab was appointed as Head of India, Middle East Desk in London, a newly created role within the International Corporates team. In this role he was responsible for client coverage across Corporate and Investment Banking for all large Indian and Middle Eastern parent Multinational clients looking to develop their business’ in UK and Europe. 

August 2017, Basab was appointed as Head of UK, Nordic, Swiss and Israel International Corporates business. This team houses all FTSE 100 and large cap UK Natural Resources clients as well as large cap Nordic, Swiss and Israeli businesses.

 

June 2020, Basab took over as Head of Subsidiary Coverage for North America, Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern International Corporates business.
