Carrie Chen joined Barclays in March 2020 as Managing Director, Vice Chairman of Banking, Greater China based in Hong Kong. She is responsible for senior client coverage in Greater China, delivering solutions from comprehensive suite of products including financial advisory, debt and equity capital raising, financing and risk management services.
Ms. Chen has 15 years of experience in investment banking in China. She joined Barclays from Morgan Stanley where she was a Managing Director in the China Investment Banking team, responsible for client coverage and deal origination from blue-chip clients across a wide range of sectors including FIG, Industrials and TMT. Ms. Chen led notable transactions including USD1.7bn Huatai Securities GDR listing in 2019 under Shanghai-London Stock Connect.
Before joining Morgan Stanley in 2017, Ms. Chen was a Director in the China Investment Banking team at Deutsche Bank and at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, Ms. Chen was with Macquarie Group’s advisory and funds management divisions from 2006 to June 2010, focused on infrastructure advisory and private equity investments in China. Ms. Chen began her career in corporate finance at McKinsey in New York.
