Claire
O'Connor is a Managing Director and Head of Loan Capital Markets & Acquisition
Finance in the Americas at Barclays. She
is responsible for the origination and structuring of corporate and acquisition
financings for major corporate clients, and has led a number of the largest
global capital raises in the industry. Under
her leadership, Barclays was awarded Loan House of the Year by IFR. She is Chair of the Capital Commitment
Committee and the Investment Banking Distribution Committee. Claire is also Chair of Barclays Women’s
Initiative Network (Win), heads the
Banking Diversity Committee and is actively involved in recruiting.
Claire
joined Barclays in 2008 as head of Acquisition Finance, before taking on
responsibility for Loan Capital Markets in 2010. Prior to joining Barclays, Claire built and led
the Acquisition Finance business for Lehman Brothers, which she joined in 2005 from JPMorgan. At JPMorgan, she held a variety of positions
in Loan Syndications, Retail sector banking coverage, Asset-Backed Securities
and Sovereign Debt Restructuring.
Claire
recently served on the Board of the Metro NY Chapter of the US National
Committee for UN Women and its Executive Committee. She is married with three
children and graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in American
Studies.
