Dr. David Kong is Director of the MIT Media Lab’s Community Biotechnology Initiative where he researches synthetic biology, biological design, collective intelligence, AI, robotics, and develops platforms for planetary-scale learning and creativity. He helped establish the fields of Eco-Augmentation, Indigenous Biotechnology, and Public Health Technology, and teaches the “Ancient Future Technology” course and global synthetic biology course “How to Grow (Almost) Anything,” featuring thousands of students worldwide.
