Unreasonable Mentors
Edlyn Moy
Former Head, Executive Office, Alternative Energy and Regions at BP
Edlyn is an Unreasonable Mentor. Edlyn has participated in 3 programs, including Unreasonable Impact UK & Europe 2022 (Feb - Apr), and has advised over 38 Unreasonable companies.
Edlyn has worked internationally for over 25 years. Her most recent role was as Head of Executive Office, Alternative Energy for BP in London, where she had a key position in shaping BP’s alternative energy strategy, driving performance in BP’s renewable energy businesses, supporting major new investment in solar, and influencing a step-change growth in BP’s alternative energy portfolio. She also served as Chief of Staff for BP’s Executive Board, and supported BP’s CEO in his chairing role of the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI). The OGCI is a CEO-led consortium that aims to accelerate the response to climate change by leveraging the collective strength of its member companies to expand the pace and scope of transitioning to a low-carbon future.
Throughout her career with BP, Edlyn has held a variety of leadership roles in strategy, marketing, finance, treasury, and global optimization, and has contributed to joint venture stewardship as a board director of BP’s joint ventures in Asia. She was the first female President of CAPCO, one of BP's most established Asian joint ventures, and also BP’s Head of Country for Taiwan. Prior to BP, Edlyn was a senior commercial lawyer with Russell McVeagh in New Zealand.
In 2024, Edlyn connected her commitment to sustainability with her passion for food and earned her Degree in Plant-Based Culinary Arts from Auguste Escoffier Culinary School. She completed a culinary externship at The Wolf’s Tailor, Colorado’s only restaurant with 2 Michelin Stars and a coveted Michelin Green Star for its commitment to zero waste. Edlyn is now channeling her corporate experience in sustainability and her culinary knowledge to promoting sustainability in culinary-related activities — from plant-forward cuisine, to sustainable food sourcing, and regenerative agriculture.
As a leader, Edlyn is passionate about diversity and inclusion, and believes in the importance of corporate social responsibility. She has deep cross-cultural experience through having lived and worked in Asia/Australasia, UK & Europe, and the US. She has served on the steering committee of BP’s Women’s International Network and as a board director of CAPCO Foundation (a charitable foundation with a mission to support education, culture, medical and environmental causes), a board director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei and a member of the Chamber’s CSR committee, and a member of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Edlyn enjoys devoting time in a mentoring and advisory capacity. As the proud mother of a child who learns differently, Edlyn is active in supporting and advising organisations that recognise, and seek to harness, the potential and creativity of the 1 in 5 children who learn differently.
