Ella is an Unreasonable Fellow. Ella was part of Girl Effect Accelerator 2014.
Ella is a venture-backed entrepreneur, working at the intersection of art and technology. Ella has worked within social enterprises in informal economies for the past 7 years. Since graduating from MIT in 2012, Ella relocated to Nairobi to fulfill her role as CEO of Soko. Ella has been a guest lecturer within INSEADs Sustainable Supply Chain course, a featured speaker at Retail World - 2016, and a keynote speaker at the East Africa Retail Summit 2016, an Ashoka Fellow, was awarded the TIAW 'World of Difference’ Award in 2013, is an Honorary member of United Succes, and was recognized by the BidNetwork as the Female Social Entrepreneur of the year in 2012. Ella received her Master of Architecture from MIT in 2012 and her BS in Architectural Studies from UW-Milwaukee, where she was recognized in 2016 as ‘Graduate of the Last Decade’. She has been featured for her work at Soko by The Huffington Post, Forbes, and other mainstream media.
