Fiona Macaulay is an entrepreneur with 20 years of experience doing business across 50 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Europe, and ASEAN. At age 26, she founded Making Cents International, a leading international development and consulting firm that achieved USD$30M in sales. She's also established the leading global conference and knowledge management platform to share best practices in entrepreneurship education, workforce development and financial inclusion for low-income populations in emerging markets. Fiona has formed strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, not-for-profit and government sectors as well as multi and bi-lateral government agencies and raised USD$4 million in grants from leading foundations. She serves as a mentor to change-makers, growth-oriented entrepreneurs, and start-ups and as an Advisor/Judge for Georgetown University’s entrepreneurship initiative & pitch competitions. She's a TEDx speaker whose work has been featured in The New York Times and in an advertisement for American Express targeting women business owners. Fiona is a guest editor and contributor to the MIT Press journal "Innovations," writing regularly about global trends and practical strategies in entrepreneurship and youth economic opportunities. Currently, she serves as a Senior Advisor to USAID’s Bureau for Food Security for youth programming and is exploring a new venture focused on elevating women innovators.
