Funlola is an Unreasonable Mentor.
Funlola serves as Director of Ventures for Mars, Inc. a fourth-generation family-owned company focused on food, snacking and pet. His remit focuses on private capital investments that align with food and ag, packaging, novel ingredients, animal/human health and supply chain resiliency. Previously, Funlola served as Investment Manager at the McKnight Foundation where he helped steward the foundation’s $2.6 billion endowment, primarily focusing on private equity and real assets and led the foundation's energy transition thematic. Funlola also served as Africa Advisor at Concordia, where he co-founded Concordia Africa, which focused on designing and implementing economic and social-impact driven public-private partnerships.
Funlola’s civic and nonprofit activities include investment committee service at the David Rockefeller Fund and the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundations. Board service includes the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Land Institute. He currently serves as a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations. Funlola received a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
