Gideon is an Unreasonable Fellow. Gideon was part of Project Literacy Lab 2016.
Gideon Stein is the Founder and CEO of LightSail, the adaptive reading platform that helps students, classrooms, and school districts exceed their literacy goals. Gideon is also a leader in the national education landscape, serving on boards of several nonprofit organizations including Stand for Children, New Classrooms, Chalkbeat, Narrative4, the Moriah Fund, and the unionized charter school University Prep Charter High School (formerly Green Dot New York). Prior to LightSail, Gideon co-founded and served as President of Future Is Now Schools (where he oversaw the turn around of two of the lowest performing high schools in New Orleans), was Vice Chairman of Success Academy Charter Schools (the top performing – and largest – charter management organization in new York City) and he was Founder, Chairman, and CEO of the enterprise messaging company Omnipod, Inc. (now a division of Symantec). Gideon has a BA in history and economics from Wesleyan University.
