Gouri Mirpuri promotes social impact wherever she is posted in her diplomatic adventures. In Indonesia, Gouri co-founded The Learning Farm, a residential farm outside Jakarta for vulnerable youth. The farm teaches young women and men organic agriculture and entrepreneurial skills to prepare them for sustainable livelihoods. The farm won the UN SDSN Award in 2014, and has graduated almost 1,000 young agro-entrepreneurs who have returned to sow the “seeds of change” in their communities. In Singapore, her home country, Gouri co-founded the Impact HUB, the country’s first co-working community for social entrepreneurs as well as the very first Impact HUB in Asia. Now in Washington D.C., Gouri continues to support “Impact Businesses” locally and globally. She mentors numerous start-ups and is on the Advisory Board of the Halcyon Incubator. Her popular “Connected for Good” Networking Series have been conducted with various groups, including the State Department, the Presidential Innovation Fellows, as well as start-ups and diplomats looking for guidance. Gouri is the U.S. President of United in Diversity (UID), a non-profit that holds the UN SDG chair for Southeast Asia. She is also a TEDx and INK speaker, a columnist on environmental issues and an author of several published non-fiction books.
