James joined Barclays in 2008 as a Private Banker and has significant experience of managing the financial affairs of Ultra High Net Worth clients. As Head of UK Domestic Private Bank, he is leader and Managing Director of 4 team managers, 50 bankers and associated private bank executives managing the affairs of Barclays’ wealthiest and highest profile private clients. James is a graduate of Durham University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment James previously worked for the Royal Family at Buckingham Palace as a Chief of Staff, supporting His Royal Highness's role as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment. This appointment gave James a unique and high-level exposure to all facets of UK business. Prior to this James served for 8 years as a Royal Marines Commando officer, latterly as an attack helicopter pilot, retiring as Major.
