Jason H. Karp is the Founder and CEO of HumanCo, a health-focused holding company dedicated to creating, investing in, and operating companies with healthy and sustainable products. Before starting HumanCo, Jason co-founded Hu Chocolate with his family—a brand that became the top-selling premium chocolate in the U.S. and was sold to Mondelēz in 2021. Earlier in his career, he spent 21 years as a professional investor, most recently as the Founder & CEO of Tourbillon Capital Partners, which managed over $4.5 billion in assets. He is also graduated Summa Cum Laude at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2024, Jason spearheaded a shareholder activist campaign against Kellogg’s for using artificial food dyes in U.S. cereals that are not found in the same products abroad. The campaign culminated in Kellogg’s publicly committing to eliminate artificial dyes from its cereals by 2027. He has testified before the U.S. Senate alongside Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services), Dr. Marty Makary (FDA Commissioner), and Dr. Casey Means (nominated U.S. Surgeon General), and has testified multiple times before the Texas State Senate, helping advance major reforms such as SB 25, a landmark 2025 law addressing harmful additives and food transparency.
