Dr. Jeff Chen MD/MBA is an impact entrepreneur on a mission to transform human as well as planetary health.
He is the cofounder and CEO of Radicle Science, an AI-powered healthtech Public Benefit Corporation recognized by Fast Company as a "World Changing Idea" and by Inc. 5000 as one of America's fastest growing companies. Radicle’s mission is to create proven, precision wellness that is accessible to all. Radicle generates gold-standard clinical evidence on non-prescription health solutions—including supplements, foods, wellness devices, and digital apps—through a patented platform combining AI, citizen science, and rigorous real-world trials. Since 2022, Radicle has studied more Americans in blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trials than all FDA drug approval trials, combined.
Dr. Jeff was invited onto the mainstage at the annual TED Conference to deliver his TED talk on Radicle's approach which is generating never-before-seen clinical evidence at unprecedented speed and scale--unlocking a new era of effective non-pharmaceutical treatments, for all.
He is the Chief Science Officer of the Wholistic Research & Education Foundation, a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on increasing trust in non-pharmaceutical health solutions through clinical evidence, education, and the Certified Effective™ initiative which will enable consumers to easily identify wellness products that have been proven in gold-standard trials.
Previously he was Founder & Exec Director of UCLA’s Center for Cannabis & Cannabinoid Research, which conducted some of history’s first official cannabis & hemp-related clinical trials.
Dr. Jeff is frequently quoted in outlets including CNN, Wall Street Journal, TIME, NPR, Financial Times, ABC News, Politico, and VICE, and appears on TV on “The Doctors”, NBC News, CBS Sunday, and Fox News. He's a Medical Advisor to Healthline, serves on the Fast Company Impact Council, a member of Young President's Organization (YPO), and his writings have been published by outlets including Newsweek, Forbes, and Rolling Stone.
As a singer he's performed in choirs, a cappella groups, and rock bands at venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to Dodger Stadium to the Vatican.
Following a BS at Cornell, Dr. Jeff earned his MD and MBA concurrently at UCLA.
