Unreasonable Fellows
Jennifer Baird
Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Trove Analytics, Inc.
Jennifer is an Unreasonable Fellow. Jennifer was part of Unreasonable Impact US 2016.
Previously, Jennifer focused her time on developing Accio Energy, Inc., a pre-commercial sustainability company that is redefining wind energy power generation using silent, stationary panels and a charged mist instead of typical wind turbines. Our plan is to cut up to 50% of the cost offshore wind farms and rapidly expand the use of clean, renewable energy around the globe. I am also part-time CEO of Sonetics Ultrasound which is developing exciting medical ultrasound transducers.
From 2005 to 2010, I led Accuri Cytometers, a rapidly growing company developing and marketing breakthrough life science research products which was successfully sold to Becton Dickenson for $205M (10x revenue, 6x return) in 2011. I co-founded Accuri and led the company from inception through development and commercialization. With lots of hard work, I raised over $30 million in venture equity and debt funding, and achieved more than $18 million in runrate annual sales, a global reach and near-profitability in just five years time.
Previously, I was a key member of the senior management team at Integrated Sensing Systems, Inc., a technology development firm focused on using micro-electromechanical systems for medical and scientific sensing applications. Earlier in my career, as a Vice President at Keane Consulting Group, I managed over $10 million in projects and helped the firm quintuple in size to over 150 staff. My career began in commercial banking. I received my MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where I shared Top-of-Class honors, and a BA degree from the University of Michigan.
