Jonathan is a highly experienced charities lawyer and charity trustee with over 20 years’ experience. Jonathan advises all types of charities and not for profit organisations in relation to charity registrations, governance, commercial activities, corporate partnerships, mergers and social investment. Jonathan has a very broad practice ranging from large operational charities, through grant-makers and funders to start-ups, across all sectors including health, education, military, faith and the arts. He has considerable expertise in resolving trustee disputes, conducting charity investigations and facilitating Charity Commission compliance.
Alongside his third sector expertise, Jonathan enjoys a significant philanthropy practice covering all types of philanthropic giving in the UK and across international borders, including US/UK dual qualified charities. This includes advising philanthropists and organisations which are underpinned by ultra-high net philanthropy on a wide range of programmatic, governance and regulatory matters, including assisting them with jurisdictional analysis for their charitable vehicles.
