Kathryn Wortsman is based in Toronto and leads Amplify Capital, a Canadian based impact venture fund focused on early stage technology companies solving for clean energy, improved education, and better health.  Amplify has $100M AUM and has invested in 30 portfolio companies with 6 exits over 3 active funds. We're in the process of finalizing the raise for Fund 3, targeting $75M to invest in impact across US and Canada.
Kathryn started her career in investment banking and then went on to spent most of her 25-year career investing and managing venture capital and private equity in small to medium sized businesses both in New York and Toronto. In New York, Kathryn was a Principal with Constellation Ventures, a Bear Stearns sponsored venture capital fund and an Investment Director for the strategic insurance technology investments group for MetLife Kathryn has numerous board roles and is active with many portfolio companies as impact and strategic advisor, counsellor and financial partner.
Her passion in social finance was born 15 years ago when she joined Social Venture Partners NYC and then subsequently founded Social Venture Partners Toronto.  
Kathryn holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. Kathryn lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.
