Unreasonable Mentors
Kyle Moss
Global Development for Social and Economic Impact at Qualcomm Wireless Reach
Kyle is an Unreasonable Mentor.
I constantly look for opportunities to transform lives (mine included!) alongside others. Whether it be via technology (my Wireless Reach role), the powerful art of storytelling (my PR / marketing experiences), or community support (my role with Alabaster Jar and more), this motivation is above all the type of role I look to fill in both my vocational and everyday life.
As an experienced professional in global development work, I focus on business for social and economic impact. My expertise is in developing and managing international programs using wireless technology for good, with emphasis across Africa, Asia, and the US. My unique mix of experiences include execution of social responsibility strategies, non-profit team leadership, capacity-building & training, marketing & public relations, extensive event planning, relationship management, public speaking & guest lecturing, and small and medium-sized enterprise inside sales. Growing my network and profile in public-private partnerships is what I enjoy most with the vast majority of my experiences being in impact grant-making, government relations, and social enterprise support. Each unique experience in my career has contributed to my excellent communication skills and capabilities to work in a positive manner, effectively, across all levels of an organization.
One of the most challenging things that I have loved in my career is the utilization of corporate resources for good. Answers to the question, "how can businesses do well while also doing good?" is something I've become extremely excited about determining. This path to discovery can take many forms and as such, I actively seek new opportunities and experiences that allow me to uncover new answers and approaches to this question. For those that enjoy this personality test, my top five results of the Strengths Finder evaluation are Developer, Positivity, Includer, Maximizer, and Empathy in that order.
