Maria Thomas is a business and technology executive who has helped build several early stage companies -- Amazon, NPR Digital, Etsy, and SmartThings (acquired by Samsung) -- into iconic, lasting businesses used by millions of people around the world. After more than two decades as a digital leader and C-level executive, Maria is currently an EIR at Redesign Health, a healthcare business incubator in New York, where she is trying to identify useful products and services for new old age. In addition, she sits on several boards, both public and private, and she advises McKinsey’s digital practice. Maria is a periodic angel investor in startups focusing on AI, data science and machine learning as well as marketplace business models. She is an expert digital advisor to both the U.S. Library of Congress and the World Bank’s IFC unit.
