Maurits Schouten started his investment banking career in 1985 at ABN Amro in Amsterdam. In 1991 he moved to London where he worked for Credit Suisse and Barclays as a Managing Director. After 23 years he left investment banking to focus on philanthropy and investing. In 2017 Maurits moved back to Amsterdam and co-founded Blue Parasol Investments to build an impact investment portfolio. He is a member of the Ashoka Support Network, PYMWYMIC, Toniic and the boards of PYE Global and Ashoka Netherlands. Maurits is married with two children and lives in Amsterdam. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Amsterdam.
