Current role and responsibilities I am responsible for content, campaigns, channels and planning for Barclays Group. This includes the development of our corporate narrative, reputation risk management, relationships with high-profile strategic partners, leadership of citizenship communications, co-ordination and planning across all Barclays businesses and ownership of key internal and external channels including the corporate intranet and our corporate website.  I moved into this role in November 2017, having initially joined the Barclays Group in April 2013 as Managing Director, Corporate Communications for Barclaycard where I led a multi-award winning team delivering corporate communications activity across all geographies, business units and functions Career highlights Before joining Barclaycard I was Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Aviva Investors, a leading global asset manager. Prior to this, I was EMEA Managing Director of Financial Communications for Edelman, the world’s largest independent Public Relations Consultancy, where I directed major international communications programmes for a wide range of high profile global businesses.  I joined Edelman from Merlin, a boutique financial communications agency based in the City of London.  I’ve worked in senior communications roles for Alliance & Leicester; PricewaterhouseCoopers; and NatWest, where I began my PR career in 1991 (having previously worked in a variety of clerical roles for the bank). I have extensive crisis management experience gained in situations as diverse as the bombing of the NatWest Tower in 1993 to handling the communications fallout in 2012 when Aviva Investors accidentally sent exit emails to its entire global workforce! Personal I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.  I live in Beckenham, Kent and am married with three children.  My interests include playing golf; watching most sports but particularly football and cricket; reading and current affairs; and listening to loud rock music!
